I report the discovery of a probable nova in M81 on co-added 2700-s and 3330-s unfiltered CCD frames taken on 2014 Oct. 19.123 and 20.090 UT, respectively with the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov.

The new object designated PNV J09554328+6902033 is located at R.A. = 9h55m43s.28, Decl. = +69o02'03".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 54.2" east and 111.8" south of the center of M81 (see link to discovery image below).

The following unfiltered magnitudes were obtained using the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov (R-band magnitudes used from comparison stars):

2014 Oct. 13.026 UT, [21.3; 19.123, 20.7 ± 0.25; 20.090, 20.5 ± 0.3.

I thank H. Kucakova for getting M81 images on Oct. 13.026 UT.
