We report spectroscopic classification of the transient PSN J16093512+4226304 in the galaxy SDSS J160935.12+422634.9 discovered by the THU-NAOC Transient Survey (TNTS). The transient was observed with the ALFOSC spectrograph at the Nordic Optical Telescope on 2014 May 17.05 UT. The spectrum confirms PSN J16093512+4226304 to be a Type Ia supernova. We used SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) to identify the SN and we find that the spectrum of PSN J16093512+4226304 is consistent with a normal Type Ia supernova at maximum. This classification (as well as the one in ATel#6145) was made as a part of the course Observational Techniques II at Stockholm University.
