Subjects: X-ray, Neutron Star, Transient
The recurrent transient and accreting neutron star, X1744-361, has
begun the third X-ray outburst observed with RXTE. The previous
outbursts occurred during 2003 and 2005. The ASM first
detected the current outburst on MJD 54631 at an average level of 39
(9) mCrab at 2-12 keV. The intensity rose to 100 mCrab on MJD 54635,
and it has hovered near that level up to the present day (54641).
We urge followup observations with other instruments.
