We report the following transient found by the ATLAS survey (see Tonry et al. ATel #8680). The units are operational on Haleakala and Mauna Loa and robotically surveying the sky. Two filters are used, cyan and orange (denoted c and o, all mags in AB system). More information is on http://www.fallingstar.com .

A spectrum was taken on the UH 2.2m + SNIFS spectrometer on 20170421, and the transient is confirmed to be a SN of the following type (from SNID).
