We obtained a spectrum of PS17ha / AT2017jc on 2017 January 16.8 UT with the Nordic Optical Telescope, using ALFOSC, grism 4 (320-910 nm, 16 Angstrom resolution) and 1" slit. The target was supplied by Pan-STARRS Survey for Transients (see Chambers et al. 2016, arXiv:1612.05560), via the TNS. Classification was done with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). We find several good fits to a normal SN Ia around maximum light at a redshift of 0.07. This redshift is consistent with the photometric redshift (0.08) of the nearby galaxy SDSS J233710.60-021036.9, and we note that the galaxy is a KEGS source. We acknowledge help from the KEGS and PESSTO teams.
