We obtained an optical spectrum of the CV candidate ASASSN-16mj (see ASAS-SN transients list) on UT Oct. 29.15 with WFCCD mounted on the du Pont 2.5m telescope at Las Campanas Observatory. The spectrum shows a blue continuum with a series of He I lines in absorption. This spectrum is characteristic of AM CVn systems in eruption. Follow-up observations are encouraged.
