The AGILE-GRID is detecting transient gamma-ray emission above 100 MeV from the blazar PKS 1510-089.

Integrating from 2016-09-19 UT 01:00:00 to 2016-09-21 UT 01:00:00, a preliminary likelihood analysis provides a gamma-ray flux F(>100 MeV) = (3.7 +/- 1.2) x 10^-6 photons/cm^2/s with a significance above 5 sigma.

The blazar is active since the end of May in gamma rays, as reported by AGILE (ATel #9350 and ATel #9450), H.E.S.S. (ATel #9102) and MAGIC (ATel #9105; ) as in the NIR/optical energy bands (ATel #9160; ATel #9513).

This measurement was obtained with AGILE observing a large portion of the sky in spinning mode. We strongly encourage multi-frequency observations.
