We report a refined position of IGR J08408-4503 based on data from the JEM-X X-ray monitor on INTEGRAL taken during the outburst on May 15th 2006 that led to the discovery of the source (ATEL #813).
The best estimate of the position is RA = 08h 40m 48.7s, Dec = -45o 03' 41'' (J2000, +-46'' at 90% confidence).
This strengthens the association of IGR J08408-4503 with the supergiant HD 74194 (ATELs #813, #814, #815), still contained in this smaller error box.
This association is, however, not definitive since inspection of the IR and Optical archival plates provided by 2MASS and DSS
show several sources in the INTEGRAL error box.
A finding chart containing H, J, K, B, R images is available here.
Follow up observations with high resolution imaging telescopes are needed to fully identify the source.
