On 20 May at 17:32 UT, the Swift BAT detected the recurrent fast X-ray
transient IGR J16479-4514 (Molkov et al., ATEL #176) as
Swift trigger number 210886. While we do not
have flux information at this time, the source was detected at 5.8
sigma in 320 seconds in the 15-50 keV band, which is much more intense
than has been seen by BAT in the past eight months.
A previous flare of this source was detected by Swift XRT (Kennea
et al, ATEL #599), which suggests that follow-up observations may
detect the source an hour or more after a flare.
