At 15:39UT on March 11th, 2015, Swift began a target of opportunity observation of the error ellipse of MAXI J0511-522 (Serino et al, ATEL #7200). Swift performed a 7-point tiling observation of the error circle, with exposures of approximately 0.5ks per tile. The resultant tiled field covers ~95% of the MAXI error ellipse.
We do not detect any new transient. We note that that given the proximity of MAXI J0511-522 to the HEAO A-1 catalogued source 1H 0513-518, that these may be related, as the MAXI and HEAO A-1 error regions overlap. Inside the HEAO A-1 error region is the Seyfert-1 AGN, 2MASX J05163823-5146496, AKA 1RXS J051638.6-514643, which we propose is likely associated with 1H 0513-518. However, this X-ray source is outside of both the MAXI error ellipse, and the Swift/XRT tiling observations, approximately 1 degree from the center of the MAXI error ellipse. Observations of 2MASX J05163823-5146496 will be required to determine if this source is in a flaring state.
