The RXTE PCA observed the new transient XTE J1701-462 (Remillard et
al, ATEL #696) on 20 Jan 2006 at 13:31 UTC for 1500 seconds. The
observation included a PCA scan over the source. The 2-10 keV flux is
approximately 900 mCrab.
The best fit position is R.A. = 17h00m56s, Decl. = -46d10'07" (J2000),
with an estimated systematic position error of approximately 1
arcminute (the position fit is dominated by intrinsic source
fluctuations and not statistics). This is 3.8 arcmin from, but
consistent with, the RXTE ASM position by Remillard et al (ATEL #696).
