Analysis of ROTSE-III sky patrol fields reveals an outburst of CV SDSSp
J161332-000331. The object was detected at 15.5 magnitude in unfiltered
CCD images taken on Jan 15th 02:04:56 UT using the 0.45m ROTSE-IIId
telescope at the Turkish National Observatory at Bakirlitepe, Turkey;
while it has r=18 magnitude in SDSS. This object was also detected at
15.5 magnitude on Sep 14th 2005, during an outburst lasting at least 2
days. It is cataloged as a tentative dwarf nova in the online edition of
a Catalog and Atlas of Cataclysmic Variables.
An outburst of another CV, Vir4/1432-0033, was observed by the same
ROTSE-IIId telescope. The object was at 17.8 magnitude on Jan 7th
12:15:59 UT in an image taken by ROTSE-IIIb telescope at McDonald
Observatory, Texas. The brightness rose to 15.4 magnitude on Jan 9th
2:31:46 UT and then dropped below 16.6 mag on Jan 11th 10:32:17 UT. The
short duration of this outburst indicates it is a normal outburst of
the eclipsing SU UMa-type dwarf nova.
