We report an optical spectrogram (range 350-910 nm) of ASASSN-14jb that was obtained on 2014 Oct. 20.52 UT with the 2.4-m telescope (+YFOSC) at LiJiang Gaomeigu Station of Yunnan Observatories. The spectrum shows that ASASSN-14jb is a type II-P supernova at a relatively young phase. Cross-correlation with a library of supernova spectra using the comparison tool Gleato (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) shows that it matches with SN 1999gi at t = +4 days relative to the explosion date. Given a redshift of 0.006 for the host galaxy ESO 467-G051 (Springob et al. 2005, ApJ.Supp., 160, 149), an expansion velocity of about 10600 km/s can be deduced from the Ha absorption.
