We report YALO consortium observation of a mini-outburst of Aquila X-1 =
V1333 Aql, which occurred between July 04.27 and 07.29 UT. This X-ray
binary outbursts approximately once per year, and most recently entered a
mini-outburst during May 2000 (IAUC 7423 , 7429 ). We have been monitoring
this source since April 5 in R using the YALO 1-m telescope at CTIO.
Compared to the quiescent average magnitude, which fluctuates by less than
0.1 mag, the source had brightened in R by 0.20 +/- 0.02 mag on July 04.27
UT and peaked at 0.31 +/- 0.02 mags on July 05.26 UT. Thereafter, the
source brightness diminished and returned to the quiescent level by July
07.29 UT. We will continue optical monitoring of this source.
