We report discovery of a new nova candidate in M31 at RA(J2000)=00:42:06, DEC(J2000)=+41:01:29 on Dec 7.08 with a magnitude of R=18.6. Nothing was there on the image taken on Dec 6.33 with a limiting magnitude of R=19.5. All images are taken in daily monitoring of M31 in PTF (Rau et al. 2009; Law et al. 2009). Photometry is calibrated with the USNO-B1.0 catalog. This object is internally designated as PTF11rdv.
