We report increased optical activity of the flat spectrum radio quasar PMN J2250-2806 (without confirmed redshift). This source has been monitored at optical wavelengths for the past 2 years with the ATOM telescope. During this period, the source varied between 23 and 15.5mag (R band).

PMN J2250-2806 was monitored almost every night with ATOM for the last 3 months.

Since November 14, 2011, the source started a significant increase from m_R= 18.7 to m_R=15.6 on November 27, 2011. The source is about 7.5 magnitudes brighter than the faintest levels recorded in the past 2 years.

Further multifrequency observations are encouraged.
