We are conducting a long-term monitoring campaign of the
optical and near-IR brightness of gamma-ray bright
blazars using the SMARTS 1.3m telescope and ANDICAM
instrument. We confirm the brightness increase of
0235+164 noted in ATel #1744. We find
that since August 20, 2008 (JD 2454698.85) the source has brightened from B=18.2 to B=16.3;
from R=16.3 to R=14.6 and from J=13.8 to J=12.3. We continue to monitor
this and other gamma-ray bright blazars on a near-daily basis.
Our results are publicly available, and can be found at http://www.astro.yale.edu/smarts/glast/
