We report the discovery of a possible nova in M31 on a co-added 180-s SDSS g' prime CCD frame taken on 2022 Dec. 16, 03:22 UTC with the 1.82-m Plaskett telescope of the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory (National Research Council of Canada). The object is located at RA 00:44:37.27 Dec +41:20:57.0 (equinox 2000.0). Differential photometry using a nearby star of similar brightness was performed using Image Reduction and Analysis Facility - IRAF (Tody, D. 1986) yielding g = 19.88 +/- 0.07 magnitude. Follow-up spectroscopic and photometric observations are highly encouraged to determine the transients class and rate of decline.
