Images were obtained of the optical transient 2022tqu (https://www.wis-tns.org/object/2022tqu) during two orbits of the Canadian Space Agency NEOSSat 0.15-m Maksutov orbiting telescope (Target of Opportunities mode) on UT 2022 Sept. 08.732 (510 seconds exposure) and Sept. 09.021 (30 seconds exposure). The GAIA catalogue star 3457482453200834560 (J2000 06 02 04.609 +39 03 21.18, G(Gaia) = 13.30) was used as a secondary standard. Unfiltered magnitudes have been measured as: Sept. 08.732, G(NEOSSat) = 13.25 (+/- 0.03) and Sept. 09.021, G(NEOSSat) = 13.29 (+/- 0.05). There is a faint GAIA catalogue star (3457485438201565568, G = 18.98) located 9".4 west and 1".1 north of the measured astrometric position (NEOSSAT astrometry : 06 01 57.30 +39 03 52.2) of the transient that we rule out as the progenitor.
