We report on a spectrum of the transient PNV J00434013+4127123 = AT 2021fbz, and classify it as a classical nova in M31. We obtained the spectrum for 15 mins (from 2021-03-09.428 UT to 2021-03-09.439 UT) using a fiber-fed integral field spectrograph (KOOLS-IFU; Matsubayashi et al. 2019) mounted on the 3.8-m Seimei telescope (Kurita et al. 2020) at Okayama Observatory of Kyoto University.

As reported to CBAT, this transient was discovered and first announced by Koichi Itagaki at 16.1 mag (unfiltered) on 2021-03-08.397. It was also discovered independently by K. Hornoch and H. Kucakova at R = 16.5 on 2021-03-06.745 (ATel #14447), by MASTER at 16.2 mag (unfiltered) on 2021-03-07.687 (TNS), and by J. Ruan, M. Zhang, and X. Gao (CBAT, TNS) at 16.5 mag (unfiltered) on 2021-03-08.5943. It was not detected by D. J. Lane on 2021-03-06.019 (CBAT).

Our spectrum shows the broad Hα line prominently. Its FWHM is ∼ 56 Å, corresponding to the velocity of ∼ 2600 km/s. Based on the brightness and our spectrum, we conclude that this is a classical nova whose velocity is very high.
