A spectrum (410-950 nm) of the recent M31 nova candidate, M31N 2007-12d (ATel #1336), obtained on 2007 December 21.17 UT with the 9.2m Hobby-Eberly Telescope (+ Marcario Low-Resolution Spectrograph) by M. Shetrone and C. Terrazas, confirms that this object is a classical nova. The spectrum is characterized by strong and broad Balmer (FWHM H&alpha ~ 5500 km/s), He I, N II, III, and O I 844.6 nm emission features. These data suggest that M31N 2007-12d belongs to the He/N spectroscopic class of novae, as defined by Williams (1992, AJ, 104, 725).
