We report the following classification of 2020oi from spectroscopic observations with the Goodman spectrograph on the SOAR 4m telescope on the Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) telescope. The target was supplied by ZTF via the ALeRCE broker. Observations were made on 2020 January 9 UT. The classification was performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).

Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ZTF20aaelulu | 2020oi | 12:22:54.925 | +15:49:25.05 | 0.005 | Ic | -5 |

Notes: When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.

We thank the SOAR staff and the director, Jay Elias, for helping with this target-of-opportunity observation.
