Discovery of an Apparent Nova in M31

We report the discovery of an apparent nova in M31 on a co-added 960-s unfiltered CCD frame taken on 2019 Apr. 26.106 UT with the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov.

The object designated PNV J00424174+4116263 is located at R.A. = 0h42m41s.74, Decl. = +41o16'26".3 (equinox 2000.0), which is 29.1" west and 17.8" north of the center of M31 (see link to discovery image below).

The following R-band magnitudes were obtained using the 0.65-m telescope at Ondrejov:

2019 Apr. 22.107 UT, [18.6; 26.106, 16.6 ± 0.2.
