On March 26, 2018, we obtained a spectrum of a supernova candidate AT2018agj/Gaia18apz with the Wide Field Spectrograph (WiFeS - Dopita et al., 2007, ApSS, 310, 255) on board 2.3m ANU telescope at the Siding Spring Observatory. We classify the candidate as a young Type Ia Supernova at a phase of 9 days post maximum and at a redshift of 0.042 by cross-correlating with a library of supernova spectra using the SuperNova IDentification code (SNID- Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
