Spectra were obtained on UT May 19.27 of the (CBAT) PSN J16283836+3932552 using the 1.82-m Plaskett telescope (National Research Council of Canada) covering the range 365-720 nm (resolution 0.35 nm). Cross-correlation with a template library using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows PSN J16283836+3932552 to be a normal type-Ia supernova at maximum light. We find a good fit to SN 1992A at maximum. Using the published redshift of NGC 6166 (de Vaucouleurs et al., 1991, 3rd Reference Catalogue of Bright Galaxies) of z = 0.03 yields an expansion velocity for the Si II (rest 635.5 nm) feature of 11,000 km/s.
