We report a spectroscopic observation of PSN J20575390-5152245, obtained robotically with the FLOYDS spectrograph at Faulkes Telescope South at Siding Spring on July 25.42 UT.
The spectrum (range 320-1000 nm) shows typical features of SNe Ib/c.
Fits to a library of spectra using superfit, gelato, and SNID indicate that it is likely a SN Ib within a week of maximum light.
Given the classification of the very nearby SNHunt142 as a Ic SN by PESSTO (Atel#4300) and the spectrum of PSN J20575390-5152245, we consider it likely that these are two different objects.
