A Swift-ToO was executed to observe the field of the newly discovered type Ia SN in NGC4424 (PSN J12271283+0925132, Cenko, Atel #4115) starting from 2012-05-18T17:09:59. No X-ray source is detected by Swift-XRT at the optical position of the transient with a 3 sigma upper limit of ~9.d-3 c/s in the 0.3-10 keV energy band (total exposure= 3.9 ks). The Galactic neutral hydrogen column density in the direction of the event is 1.5d20 1/cm2 (Kalberla 2005). Assuming a spectral photon index ~2, this translates into an absorbed flux limit of ~4.5d-13 (erg/s/cm2) and a luminosity of 1.2d40(erg/s) at a distance of 15 Mpc (Cortes et al. 2008, ApJ, 683, 78). Further Swift observations are planned. We thank the Swift team for performing these observations.
