The Swift satellite began observing SN2011ek (CBETs #2783 and #2785) on August 9th, 2011. The UVOT data show a relatively bright source coincident with the location of the supernova. Including possible contamination from the host galaxy, we measure the following preliminary magnitudes: UT(midtime) Filter Mag(AB) MagErr 0.7223 V 15.22 0.04 0.7120 B 15.82 0.03 0.7101 U 17.43 0.07 0.7072 UVW1 19.62 0.14 0.7297 UVM2 >22.31 N/A 0.7167 UVW2 21.43 0.22 There is no source detected by the XRT at this position, roughly corresponding to a 3sigma upper limit of 4x10^-13 erg/cm^2/s. Thanks go to the Swift team for performing these ToO observations.
