Discoveries were made by autonomous PTF software as well as by the Galaxy Zoo Supernova Project
(Smith et al. 2011, MNRAS, 412, 1309;
http://supernova.galaxyzoo.org ). R-band magnitudes
are calibrated with respect to the USNOB1 catalog. Spectra were obtained using the
RC spectrograph mounted on the Mayall 4m telescope at KPNO; the DOLORES spectrograph
mounted on the 3.5m TNG at La Palma, Spain; and the SNIFS spectrograph on the 2.2-m
UH telescope.
PTF11bov was independently discovered by the La Sagra Sky Survey Supernova Search
and announced as
SN 2011bm (CBET #
2695).
PTF11bju was independently discovered by the CRTS and announced as
SN 2011bg (CBET #
2689).
SNIFS (The SuperNova Integral Field Spectrograph) on the University of
Hawaii 2.2-m telescope is part of the Nearby Supernova Factory II project, a
scientific collaboration between the Centre de Recherche Astronomique de
Lyon, Institut de Physique Nucl'eaire de Lyon, Laboratoire de Physique
Nucl'eaire et des Hautes Energies, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory,
Yale University, University of Bonn, Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics,
Tsinghua Center for Astrophysics, and the Centre de Physique des Particules
de Marseille.
