We report the spectroscopic classification of SN 2019rn (ATel #12384), discovered by the ATLAS survey see Tonry et al. (2011, PASP, 123, 58) and Tonry et al. (ATel #8680)
The observation was performed with DEIMOS on Keck-II (range 400-860 nm; resolution 0.4 nm).
Survey Name | IAU Name | Discovery MJD | Discovery mag | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ATLAS19bdu | SN 2019rn | 58495.30 | 18.86 | 0.013 | II | at Max | (1)
(1) The spectrum is consistent with that of a Type II SN around maximum light, at a redshift 0.013 . The expansion velocity deduced from the H I 656.3 nm absorption is about 12000 km/s.
The classification was done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488,
383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
