We obtained an optical spectrum of DLT18h/SN2018xx (Atel #11328) on UT 2018 February 22.2 with the Goodman Spectrograph on the SOAR telescope. Spectral classification was performed with SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), with good matches to normal type Ia supernovae roughly two weeks before maximum light, in accordance with the current absolute magnitude of M_V~-16 mag. There is also a clear carbon notch (at CII 6580 Angstroms) in the spectrum. We encourage further observations.
