We report the spectroscopic classification of supernova SN 2017hro (ATLAS17mwv) in host galaxy 2MASX J22161573+4003267.
The observations were performed with the 2.56 m Nordic Optical Telescope equipped with ALFOSC (range 350-950 nm; resolution 1.6 nm) on 2017-11-01.8 UT.

(1) SN redshift is obtained from host emission lines and consistent with that derived from the SN spectrum. Good spectral match is obtained with spectra of several type II SNe around maximum light.
Classifications were performed using the GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) tools. Calibrated spectra and additional information can be retrieved in the IAU Transient Name Server.
