We report the following classifications of optical transients from spectroscopic observations with the Kast spectrograph on the Shane telescope. Targets were supplied by ATLAS and ASAS-SN. All observations were made on 2017 May 25 UT. Classifications were performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | IAU Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ATLAS17fnt | AT2017edw | 10:52:04.44 | +11:35:41.69 | 0.043 | Ia | -2 d | (1)
ASASSN-17gr | AT2017egb | 16:08:39.59 | +12:00:39.03 | 0.016 | Ia | -7 d | (2)
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.
