Recent MAXI/GSC observations reported an X-ray brightening of the Be/X-ray system V 0332+53 (ATel #9596). Following this report, we performed optical spectroscopic and photometric observations of BQ Cam, identified as the optical counterpart of the system, with the 1.5 m Russian-Turkish telescope of TUBITAK National Observatory (Antalya, Turkey) on 2016 October 6 (MJD 57667). Our photometric observations carried out with BVRI filters (UT 00:21-00:41) showed that Be star was in a brightening phase (B=16.71±0.02, V=15.17±0.02, R=14.16±0.01, I=13.18±0.03). We note that ongoing brightening period is very similar to the ones observed during 2004 (ATel #245), 2009 (ATel #2381) and 2015 outbursts (ATel #7682). The 5800-8300 Å (resolution 3.4 Å) optical spectrum, taken on UT 00:43, was typical to that of a Be star with a decretion disk, highly reddened continuum with superimposed Hα emission. The measurements of Hα emission line (single peaked) were found to be EW=4.92±0.17 Å and FWHM=7.05±0.32 Å.

We thank to TUBITAK National Observatory for their support in using RTT150 with project number 16BRTT150-1059.
