Referred to by ATel #: 9573, 9576

The AZTEC (Arizona Transient Exploration and Characterization) collaboration reports an optical spectrum of AT2016ghq (ATEL #9526, #9528, #9529, #9544, #9556) obtained on UT 20156 Sep. 25.33 with the 6.5m MMT telescope (+ Bluechannel spectrograph, 1200 l/mm grating centered at 6365 Angstroms) on Mt. Hopkins, Arizona. The spectrum shows a broad H-alpha (FWHM ~14000 km/s) with P-Cygni features similar to that seen in ATEL #9521. Cross-correlation using GELATO (Harutyunyan et al., 2008, A&A, 488, 383) finds a good match with SN1987A at maximum. This is in good agreement with the ATEL #9536 suggestion of a candidate blue progenitor star.
