We report a classification of ASASSN-16io = AT2016esx from spectroscopic observations with KOSMOS on the KPNO Mayall 4-m telescope. Targets were supplied by the All-Sky Automated Survey for Supernovae (ASAS-SN). All observations were made on 2016 Aug 11 UT. Classifications were performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
Name | RA (J2000) | Dec (J2000) | z | Type | Phase | Notes
ASASSN-16io | 18:40:01.115 | +53:14:14.40 | 0.032 | Ia | +7d | (1)
Notes:
When the redshift is given to 2 decimal places, it is derived from the SN spectrum. Otherwise, the redshift is determined from the host galaxy.
(1) The SN continuum appears reddened, and we measure a Na D equivalent width of 1.4 A. We measure a Si II 6355 velocity of -8,900 km/s.
