In course of night-by-night monitoring of transient Aql X-1 after its last outburst we have detected new significant brightening after some stabilization at Aug. 1 and Aug. 2 nights. Preliminary R-magnitudes for these nights were 16m.82 and 16m.75, respectively. At last night Aug 03/04 R-magnitude became as bright as 16m.45. Typical errors of brightness estimates are about 0m.05 and should be decreased after more accurate reducing of data. As we can see from previous data, Aql X-1 is near its historical maximum now.

More precise data are in preparation. Further observations at all wavelengths are encouraged.
