We observed the type Ic supernova ASASSN-16fp in UGC 11868 (Holoien et al., ATel #9086; Elias-Rosa ATel #9090; d=10Mpc; discovery date 2016 May 27.55) with the AMI Large Array at 15 GHz between 28-31 May 2016. Preliminary analysis of the data suggests that the radio counterpart was detected at 1.4 mJy on 28 May and faded to 0.5 mJy (+/-0.1 mJy) by 31 May. The spectral information between 13-18 GHz indicates that the circumburst medium was optically thick at 15 GHz on 28 May and optically thin on 31 May. A more careful analysis of the data are ongoing.
We thank the AMI staff for scheduling these observations. The principal authors of this ATel are amenable to collaboration and providing the AMI data towards a publication.
