We obtained a spectrum of SN 2016bas, discovered by Stuart Parker (BOSS), on 2016 March 14.6 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the LCOGT 2-meter telescope in Siding Spring, Australia. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find a good fit to the Type IIb SN 1997dd at maximum light at the redshift of the proposed host galaxy (z=0.009; Mathewson, Ford, & Buchhorn 1992, ApJS, 81, 413, via NED). The helium lines at 5876A and 7065A are clearly observed, with P Cygni minima corresponding to a velocity of ~7000 km/s. The helium line at 6678A may also be present at the same velocity but blended with narrow H-alpha emission from the host. The spectrum is available on the Transient Name Server.
