We report results from multicolor VRI observations of the BL Lac object OJ 287 (z= 0.306) from Belogradchik Observatory, Bulgaria with 0.6m telescope, performed on March 1st and 2nd 2016. As it was reported in Atels #8667, #8697, #8705 the object was detected in a high activity state.
We applied standard aperture photometry and derived the VRI magnitudes (preliminary results) with the photometric errors. Our results are consistent with these reported in Atel #8768 and may indicate the beginning of a brightness increase of the object. Julian dates for our observations and VRI magnitudes (with typical errors of 0.05 mag.) are listed below.

JD=2457449.40; V=13.51; R=13.22; I=12.60
JD=2457450.38; V=13.49; R=13.15; I=12.59

Further observations are encouraged.
