FLOYDS Classification of AT 2016ajl as a Type Ia Supernova Near Peak

We obtained a spectrum of SN 2016ajl (ATel #8716) on 2016 February 21.2 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the LCOGT 2-meter telescope on Haleakala, Hawai'i. Using Superfit (Howell et al. 2005, ApJ, 634, 119) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find good fits to normal Type Ia supernovae around maximum light at redshifts of approximately z=0.07. The spectrum is available on the Transient Name Server.
