The Asiago Transient Classification Program (Tomasella et al. 2014, AN, 335, 841) reports the spectroscopic classification
of AT 2016adg, discovered by LOSS (Weikang Zheng) in UGC 3376.
The observation was performed with the Asiago 1.82 m Copernico Telescope (+AFOSC; range 340-820 nm; resolution 1.4 nm).
Name | Discovery UT | Obs. Date UT |z | Type | Phase |Notes
AT 2016adg | 20160207 | 20160210.91 |0.013139 | II | young | (1)
(1) This is a young Type II SN. A good match is found with the type II-P SN 1999gi a few days after the explosion. From the position of the minimum of the broad Halpha, we obtain an expansion velocity of the ejected material of 14000 km/s.
Classification were done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488,
383) and SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The Asiago classification
spectra are posted at the website http://sngroup.oapd.inaf.it.
