We report below optical photometry of the ongoing 2016 (and fifth recorded) eruption of the fast recurrent nova LMCN 1968-12a (see ATel #8578, #8586, #8587, #8616). The previous four outbursts were reported in 1968 (Sievers 1970), 1990 (Shore et al. 1991), and 2002 and 2010 (Mróz et al. 2014). Our observations were obtained in the B, V, R, and I Bessell filters using the 0.6 m SARA-South telescope and ARC CCD camera at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory on 2016 Jan 23, Jan 26 and Feb 02 UT. The instrumental magnitudes were calibrated using 8 standard stars in the GD71 and SA92 fields (Landolt 2009). Further photometric and spectroscopic observations are encouraged.
