Spectroscopic Classification of ASASSN-15uk

We obtained a low-resolution optical spectrum of ASASSN-15uk (ATel #8461) on 2015 December 25.9 with the 2.16-m telescope at Xinglong Station of NAOC. Cross-correlation with a library of SN spectra using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) shows that ASASSN-15uk is a Type Ia and matches best the normal SN 1999ef and the SN 1991T-like SN 2003fa at 7-9 days after maximum. The best fit SNID redshift is z=0.037 +/- 0.006.
