We report a spectroscopic observation of ASASSN-15tx (ATel #8400) obtained with the 2m robotic Liverpool Telescope (+SPRAT low-resolution spectrograph) on 2015 Dec 11.9078 UT. The spectrum, covering the 400-800 nm range, is blue and nearly featureless. There are signs of absorption at the position of the Balmer Hbeta and Hgamma lines, with hints of emission in the cores of these lines, all at z=0. Unlike Challis et al. (ATel #8410), our interpretation is that this is likely a dwarf nova in outburst.
