We report the spectroscopic classification of supernova ASASSN-15ub based on a low-resolution spectrum obtained on 2015-12-16.3 UT with the Nordic Optical Telescope (+ ALFOSC; range 320-910 nm).

ASASSN-15ub was discovered by the All Sky Automated Survey for SuperNovae (ASAS-SN; see Shappee et al. 2014, ApJ, 788, 48 and http://www.astronomy.ohio-state.edu/~assassin/index.shtml ) on 2015-12-14.55 UT at V~16.6 mag; see ATel #8409. The classification was performed using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024).
