We report the classification of PSN J05140624-10373000 in NGC 1843 from spectroscopic observations performed on 2015 Dec 07 UT with the GMOS on the Gemini-North telescope. Classification was performed with SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). The spectrum is consistent with a type II supernova a few days after explosion. Using a redshift of cz = 2603 km/s (Koribalski et al., 2004, AJ, 128, 16), we measure an H-alpha expansion velocity of 8600 km/s.
