We report an optical spectrum (range 350-900 nm) of ASASSN-15so (ATel #8256) obtained on UT 2015-11-08.93 with the 2.4m telescope (+YFOSC) at LiJiang Observatory of Yunnan Observatories (YNAO). The spectrum is consistent with a normal type Ia supernova (SN 2003du) at ~10 days before the maximum light. Classifications were done with GELATO (Harutyunyan et al. 2008, A&A, 488, 383) and SNID (Blondin & Tonry, 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024). Adopting a redshift of 0.007125 of the host galaxy NGC 3583, an expansion velocity of ~12000 km/s can be derived from the absorption minimum of Si II 635.5 nm. Strong Na I D lines in the spectra indicates that this supernova suffers a significant line-of-sight reddening. Our independent classification is consistent with that reported by Asiago in ATel #8259.
