We conducted a spectroscopic observation of transient MASTER OT
J041227.87+342902.0 at 2015-10-07T02:52:17.75 UT.
This transient was reported by the MASTER-Kislovodsk auto-detection
system (Lipunov et al., Advances in Astronomy, MASTER Global Robotic
Net, 2010) in ATel #8128.
A spectrum was obtain in the visible, 400-800nm, with resolution R ~350,
using the SPRAT spectrograph on the Liverpool Telescope located at Roque
de los Muchachos.
Classification using SNID (Blondin and Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024)
indicates it is a type Ia supernova. We find a close match with SN2005am
at +12 days post-maximum. The SNID estimated red shift is z = 0.023,
consistent with that of the proposed host galaxy PGC097035, z = 0.021.
The velocity of ejecta estimated from the Si II absorption feature at
635.5 nm is ~10,600 k
