OGLE15gg, also known as OGLE15gs and OGLE15gu, was discovered on 2015 September 9.2 UT by the OGLE-IV Transient Detection System (Wyrzykowski et al.,2014,AcA,64,197) at right ascension 00:02:46.95 and declination -73:30:42.3 (J2000), 0.4" (but consistent with 0") from the center of the galaxy GALEXASC J000246.78-733042.1 at a magnitude of I~19.5. The most recent magnitude estimate is I~18.6 on 2015 September 21.2 UT (see http://ogle.astrouw.edu.pl/ogle4/transients/ ). We obtained a spectrum of OGLE15gg on 2015 September 24.6 UT with the robotic FLOYDS instrument mounted on the Faulkes Telescope South under our LCOGT TDE vetting program (PI: Arcavi). Using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024), we find a good fit to the Type IIP SN 1999em 1 day after maximum light at redshift z=0.031.
